Description
BWH was engaged to lead the design development for the military construction of the River Road Training Site. The 41,325 SF project includes full site development—utilities, parking, stormwater management, site lighting, and pavements—and is designed for a minimum 50-year lifespan. All work complies with Unified Facilities Criteria requirements, including Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection standards. The facility supports the National Guard’s Military Police and Field Feeding Team and incorporates an armory, assembly area with movable partitions, classrooms, locker rooms, warehouse storage, administrative suites, and a commercial kitchen. The design is targeted to achieve LEED® Silver certification.
BWH also delivered the renovation of Field Maintenance Shop #3, located adjacent to the recently completed Readiness Center. This extensive interior renovation was necessary to meet the mission requirements of the new occupants and to bring the facility up to current building codes and UFC standards. The exterior was upgraded as well to create a cohesive aesthetic across the campus, aligning with the design of the new Readiness Center. New electrical and water services were introduced to the maintenance shop to meet updated infrastructure needs. BWH structured the work in two phases to accommodate multi-year project funding.
