Description
Bignell Watkins Hasser Architects provided design services for the Bishops Chapel addition to Evangel Cathedral in Upper Marlboro. The program for the chapel grew from an outdoor pavilion into a 8,000 sf. Worship and Fellowship hall with a large amphitheater anchored outdoor plaza. Large gothic-arch windows on all four sides create abundant day lighting.
Exterior red brick matches existing buildings on the campus. Interior finishes and details include gilded trim, intricate marble and granite floors and venetian plaster treated walls.
