Bignell Watkins Hasser provided architectural design services for this 61,000 sf., two-story Harris Teeter in Baltimore, Maryland. The McHenry Row store is located in a former brownfield environment and also happens to be Harris Teeter’s first location in Baltimore. The new urban mixed-use facility has completely transformed the downtown area and reflects the lifestyle and preferences of its customers.

Recognized as the 2001 “Retail Store of the Year” by Chain Store AGE, this facility showcases all of the modern elements of a foodstore. Additionally, this building has received LEED® Silver certification. Sustainable features include recycling centers in the lobby, natural day lighting, LED lighting in the freezer cases, water saving devices, electric vehicle charging stations and integrated refrigeration and HVAC system that utilizes high efficient condensing and high efficient water source heat pump technology.
