Description
The River of Life Church is the third project designed for the fast-growing Redeemed Christian Church of God Organization. Bignell Watkins Hasser Architects provided design services for the building which includes a two-level sanctuary space with a seating capacity for 750 parishioners. The sanctuary was designed specifically to fit with the digital media and audio visual needs of the congregation. The interior lighting also accommodates the performing arts component of the church’s outreach ministry.
The lower level includes a reception/banquet hall for 400 people, an early childhood learning facility and church administrative offices.
The scale, mass and fenestration was designed to fit the small town context of Riverdale, MD. Exterior materials include brick, stone, precast and glass.
