Description
This project explores the rehabilitation and repurposing of three existing industrial buildings on the historic Woodfield’s Fish & Oyster Co. site in Anne Arundel County, MD. Guided by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s vision and program, the design focuses on reimagining the site to support environmental, educational, and community uses revolving around CBF’s groundbreaking oyster restoration initiatives. The concept seeks to provide a functional hub for the foundation’s innovation goals while acknowledging and enriching the site’s deep maritime heritage. The approach includes unique responses to various site constraints, including thoughtful approaches to stormwater management, building envelope modifications, equipment circulation and water access.
