Description
Courthouse Metro Office Plaza is a three-story, 53,000 sf brick and precast concrete structure located on one of the most prominent sites in Arlington, VA. Unique characteristics of the project included the configuration of the site, its premier location, and the operating underground metro station located just below the surface of the site.
A structure was designed that grew from the unique triangular shape of the site, with a circular tower at the apex of the radius walls that anchored the design to its surroundings. Our design solution successfully integrated the metro station escalator, retail shops, enclosed loading deck and office area atrium into a cohesive composition which respected its neighbors and maintained the integrity of the surrounding urban context.
